the 21 km race on legendary roads returns, 14 March 2027

From Maranello to Modena, through Ferrari’s most iconic landmarks, the Mezza Maratona d’Italia returns combining a fast course, elite competition, a passion for running, and the region’s unique heritage.
The event programme also includes the 5 km Family & Fans Run, open to everyone.

Milan – The Mezza Maratona d’Italia – “Memorial Enzo Ferrari” will return on the weekend of 13 – 14 March 2027, once again taking runners through the legendary and iconic sites of the Prancing Horse. The new date has been set following the success of the 2026 edition, both in terms of participation and quality. Registration will open on 14 September 2026.

As in March 2026, the event will be organised by RCS Sports & Events, a leading company with extensive experience in staging major national and international sporting events. Ferrari, the event’s Hosting Partner, will once again give participants exclusive access to some of its most iconic venues during the race weekend. The 2026 edition welcomed 15,000 participants across all race distances, including athletes from 88 countries, with international runners accounting for one-third of the field. The event is organised with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Province of Modena, and the municipalities of Maranello, Fiorano Modenese, Formigine and Modena.

This is a race that brings together competitive excellence and a passion for sport, demonstrating its strong bond with the local community, a forward-looking vision of continuous innovation and progress, and the spirit of speed that lies at the heart of Motor Valley’s identity. These values are embodied in a sporting discipline where performance is ultimately measured against the clock, at every level.

Thousands of passionate runners and elite athletes will once again challenge themselves on a memorable course, celebrating the world’s most iconic expressions of Italian excellence. The race will wind through the places where legendary cars and engines are designed, engineered and brought to life – symbols of Made in Italy that are admired around the world.

The official 21.097 km FIDAL competitive half marathon course has been confirmed. Starting in Maranello and finishing in the heart of Modena, the route will also pass through the municipalities of Fiorano and Formigine. Participants will enjoy a fast, smooth course that runs through the Ferrari complex, including the legendary Fiorano Test Track. The event programme will also include the Paralympic Half Marathon, featuring athletes from FISPES – the Italian Federation of Paralympic and Experimental Sports.

AN EVENT OPEN TO EVERYONE: 5 KM FAMILY & FANS RUN

The 2027 edition will feature two race distances. On Sunday, 14 March 2027, the Mezza Maratona d’Italia “Memorial Enzo Ferrari” will take place, while Saturday, 13 March 2027, will be dedicated to the 5 km Family & Fans Run, a non-competitive event open to everyone. Families, children, Ferrari enthusiasts, schools, local associations and recreational runners will all enjoy the unique opportunity to run through iconic Ferrari sites that will be opened specially for the occasion.

SPORT, LOCAL COMMUNITY, AND SOCIAL PROJECT

The Mezza Maratona d’Italia “Memorial Enzo Ferrari” reaffirms its commitment to the local community, once again demonstrating its determination to leave a lasting legacy that extends beyond sporting achievement. For the 2027 edition, the event’s proceeds, net of organisational costs, will be invested in education, supporting the community and the generations to come.
