On 29 March 2026, the race connecting Maranello to Modena will once again showcase the spirit of Motor Valley, passing through the legendary sites of the Prancing Horse and including a lap of the new e-Vortex circuit.
Rounding off the 21 kilometres, there are also 10- and 5-kilometre distances for a real weekend of celebration dedicated to the area.
The proceeds will be used to fund social projects for the communities involved along the race route, in support of sports and education.
Registration is now officially open!
Fiorano Modenese – The 2026 edition of the Italian Half Marathon – Enzo Ferrari Memorial, scheduled for 29 March, was presented today at the Ferrari e-Vortex test track, the Prancing Horse’s brand new test circuit adjacent to the Fiorano track, in a vibrant atmosphere where innovation blends with tradition.
Rather than just a race, the event is a heartfelt tribute celebrating the unbreakable and profound bond between sporting passion, the local territory and an unstoppable forward-looking vision into the future. In this iconic land, where speed has always been not only a vocation and a metaphor, but also an expression of the best of Made in Italy that is recognised throughout the world, professional and amateur runners race with their hearts and souls, following in the footsteps of the drivers on the same track.
The event is organised by RCS Sports & Events, a company specialising in the organisation of national and international sporting events. As hosting partner, Ferrari will make some of its most iconic and usually inaccessible locations available to participants, including Viale Enzo Ferrari, which runs through the company’s industrial Citadel, the famous Fiorano track and the Ferrari e-Vortex. This innovative circuit will be the unique setting for the event, which will be shared with enthusiasts. On this occasion, the local community will also begin to learn about the new infrastructure, which aims to improve traffic flow in the area owing to the transfer of the Prancing Horse’s testing activities from the road to the track.
Owing to the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Province of Modena, and the Municipalities of Maranello, Fiorano, Formigine and Modena, the Italian Half Marathon corroborates its identity as a landmark event for the region and one of the most prestigious road running races in Italy.
The presentation, moderated by journalist Cristina Fantoni, was attended by the CEO and General Manager of RCS Sport & Events, Paolo Bellino, and the CEO of Ferrari, Benedetto Vigna, together with local institutions, such as the President of the Province of Modena Fabio Braglia, the Mayor of Maranello Luigi Zironi, the Mayor of Fiorano Modenese Marco Biagini, the Mayor of Formigine Elisa Parenti, the Councillor for Sports of the Municipality of Modena, Andrea Bortolamasi and the President of the Tourism Promotion Agency Services of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Davide Cassani. Athletes Rita Cuccuru, Sofiia Yaremchuck and Giovanni Pili D’Ottavio were also attending. The moment dedicated to the athletes was further enriched by a video greeting from the President of FIDAL, the Italian Athletics Federation, Stefano Mei.
The race will set off in Maranello and finish in Modena, covering a distance of 21.097 km. The route will pass through the municipalities of Fiorano and Formigine, taking in the most iconic locations in Motor Valley and the legendary Ferrari.
Italy’s Half Marathon “Memorial Enzo Ferrari” thus takes on a prominent position on the FIDAL calendar, ranking among the main national competitions over this distance. But this year, another new feature is expected to increase the level of engagement and passion.
In the 2026 edition, the Memorial will be transformed into a veritable festival: the half marathon will become the beating heart of an entire weekend of entertainment, with events, initiatives and activities celebrating the local region, sport and all its facets, involving the community in a unique and participatory experience.
Friday, 27 March will see the opening of the Italian Half Marathon Village, a meeting place for athletes, families and enthusiasts. On Saturday 28 March, the 5 km Family Run is scheduled, while on Sunday 29 March, the competitive 21.097 km half marathon and the non-competitive 10 km race will take place. There will be a strong competitive spirit, but it will also be a collective celebration designed for children, schools and associations, which will enhance the sense of belonging associated with these places and their history.
To make it an even more unique and inclusive event for everyone, not just professional and amateur runners, a “special package” has been designed that includes combined registration for the 21km race and the Family Run.
A COMMUNITY-RELATED PROJECT
Italy’ Half Marathon ‘Memorial Enzo Ferrari’ goes beyond athletic performance. It will be a collective story that intertwines myth with the energy of running, the thrust for innovation with a sense of belonging to a community. Every kilometre will be filled with the same passion that drives the fans of the Prancing Horse and binds them to these places.
In conjunction with the competitive aspect, the event confirms its commitment to promoting sports activities among young people in the area. Owing to the partners and the 10,000 runners participating in the 2025 edition, the Maranello community will soon have a new multi-sport field in the heart of the Sports Park, which is currently under construction. Once again this year, all proceeds from registrations and partner contributions to the Italian Half Marathon, net of organisational costs, will contribute to a social project.
The event aims to create a long-term positive impact and will support the renovation and development of local sports facilities to make sports increasingly accessible to everyone in the municipalities traversed by the race: Maranello, Fiorano Modenese, Formigine, and Modena.
THE ROUTE
The 2026 route is not simply a 21,097 km itinerary; it is a red line of emotions connecting Maranello to Modena. Exclusive and special, it is a route that thousands of participants in Italy’s Half Marathon “Memorial Enzo Ferrari” will be able to run, and hearts will already be beating fast at the start in front of the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, with the impressive finish in Piazza Roma in Modena. Runners will symbolically cross the threshold of the legend.
There will be the eagerly awaited passage of all three distances inside the Ferrari factory in Maranello and along the company avenues, surrounded by production buildings designed by world-renowned architects, through the famous Fiorano Track, inaugurated in 1972, and, for a section, on the brand new Ferrari e-Vortex circuit. It will be pure excitement, where every step will resonate with the power of passion and the BPMs for each participant will be sky-high right from the start line.
Registration officially open today. It will be a real race within a race for enthusiasts who dream of winning a place in this already legendary Italy’s Half Marathon “Memorial Enzo Ferrari”.
STATEMENTS
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND GENERAL DIRECTOR, RCS SPORTS & EVENTS – Paolo Bellino
«The privilege of organising, for the first time, Italy’s Half Marathon – Enzo Ferrari Memorial, in a region with strong sporting tradition and great capacity for living, opens up a new challenge for us and fills us with pride. I would like to thank Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna for hosting us in this wonderful venue and all the institutions involved today. Our goal is to work on an excellent sporting format, an event even richer than that of 2025, through which we aim to expand public participation and attract foreigners. We want to involve not only running enthusiasts and professionals but also other people who wish to spend a weekend of celebration and sport between Maranello and Modena, for three days of events from 27 to 29 March. This event can only further enhance all these wonderful places, making them increasingly attractive. Sport is an extraordinary vehicle for promoting the territory. RCS Sport & Events has strongly believed in this for years and promotes it, as we will do with the Half Marathon, which we are excited to organise in 2026.»
PRESIDENT, PROVINCE OF MODENA – Fabio Braglia
« Italy’s Half Marathon – Memorial Enzo Ferrari is an extraordinary opportunity to promote our territory through sport, participation and inclusion. The route, which winds its way through symbolic locations in Motor Valley, highlights the strong and attractive identity of the province of Modena. Events such as this promote the territory in a dynamic and engaging way, combining a passion for running, sport and healthy lifestyles with the discovery of our cultural and scenic excellence. The Province of Modena is proud to support an event that speaks to the hearts of citizens and visitors alike, promoting the combination of sport, tourism and community. Just as we recently inaugurated the Mito cycle path, which connects the two Ferrari museums in Maranello and Modena, today we are particularly pleased to support this event, which will allow thousands of athletes to experience our region.»
MAYOR, MUNICIPALITY OF MARANELLO – Luigi Zironi
« With the second edition of the Italian Half Marathon – Memorial Enzo Ferrari, a source of pride for our territory, we continue our commitment to promoting sports as a vehicle for socialising and healthy lifestyles. In fact, the Half Marathon will not “just” be a major sporting event, but a real celebration of sports, in which our community will welcome thousands of enthusiasts and their families for two days that promise to be unforgettable for Maranello. And again this year, owing to Ferrari’s sensitivity to these issues, the proceeds from the event will be used to leave a legacy to be invested in public works dedicated to sporting activities, especially for young people. The first edition already made it possible to finance the construction of a modular multi-sport field, which is being built in the heart of Maranello’s Sports Park. The field will give everyone the opportunity to practice up to five sports and will be available to all enthusiasts by the first half of 2026.»
MAYOR, MUNICIPALITY OF FIORANO MODENESE – Marco Biagini
«My city is known worldwide owing to its ceramics industry, but also because of the Fiorano racetrack and, in the near future, thanks to the e-Vortex, a new circuit alongside the historic one that will inspire the dreams of many fans and enthusiasts. Events such as Italy’s Half Marathon – Memorial Enzo Ferrari help people to experience the area and to discover its potential first-hand, entering, in this case physically, the inaccessible territory of what is the most famous brand in the world. I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to the company for deciding to couple the sporting event with a donation to the municipality, which will enable many young people and students to enjoy new facilities at the sports grounds in Spezzano, contributing in a tangible way to the educational and moral growth of the younger generation.»
MAYOR, MUNICIPALITY OF FORMIGINE – Elisa Parenti
«Italy’s Half Marathon – Memorial Enzo Ferrari is an event that combines sporting passion and local heritage. We are proud that this year’s route once again runs through Formigine, allowing participants to pass by our Castle, a symbol of the town’s history and identity. It is a setting that expresses the link between tradition and the drive towards the future that this event perfectly embodies. The presence of a major sporting event such as Italy’s Half Marathon represents an important opportunity for Formigine and the entire district to gain visibility and promote tourism, showcasing the network of excellence that is Motor Valley and the hospitality of our region. We are also particularly pleased that the proceeds from the 2026 edition will go to a social project to promote sports activities among young people. Investing in them means building the future and giving even greater value to this event.»
COUNCILLOR FOR CULTURE, CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES, TOURISM, HISTORIC CENTRE, CITY PROMOTION, SPORTS, YOUTH POLICIES – Andrea Bortolamasi
«Italy’s Half Marathon – Memorial Enzo Ferrari is a remarkable tool for promoting our territories through sports. Iconic locations, united by a major running event, open to everyone: a major sporting event, a great celebration of sports, with significant positive social, tourist and promotional effects for all the areas involved.»
PRESIDENT, APT SERVICES EMILIA-ROMAGNA REGION – Davide Cassani
«Sports and Motor Valley, two areas of excellence in Emilia-Romagna, come together in the name of Enzo Ferrari in a competitive event that is unique in Italy. The Italian Half Marathon – Memorial Enzo Ferrari will allow participants to experience the thrill of running through places rich in history, tradition and identity, linked to an undisputed symbol of the best of Made in Italy, from the Ferrari factory to the Fiorano and brand new e-Vortex tracks, offering unforgettable emotions to all athletes. Good luck to the organisers of this second edition and good luck to all participants.»
RITA CUCCURU – paralympic athlete
«I come from Sardinia, but I have been adopted by the town of Maranello. In my sporting past, I have competed in para-cycling and para-triathlon, but two years ago I also started running, and I must admit that this sport has a different atmosphere, » she added. «I hope the race will be very well attended again. In 2025, I experienced strong emotions when I entered the Ferrari company and looked up because it was truly an iconic moment. I finished in 53 minutes. I hope to decrease my time in the next edition.»
GIOVANNI PILI D’OTTAVIO – paralympic athlete
«Here at Italy’s Half Marathon Memorial Enzo Ferrari last March, I experienced indescribable emotions. When I plan my competitive season, I choose races based on the adrenaline rush they give me. I can’t wait to be at the starting line in March 2026.»
SOFIIA YAREMCHUK – Italian record-holding marathon and half marathon runner
«It is an honour to be here and to be able to run and breathe the air where Ferraris are made. Running is like an engine: it requires balance and energy, and I will do everything I can to be at the starting line on Sunday, 29 March. That day will be a celebration not only of sport but also of an important territory, and it will exalt the Italian spirit. I wish the organisers and all participants an exciting and enthusiastic weekend of sports.»
